Oak and rush chairs were very popular in Dutch interiors from the mid 19th to the mid 20th century. You can find them in various shapes. This arm chair however is very rare and intriguing, not only because of its size, but also because of the adjustable back, with nice handcarved detailson the back and arms, in very good condition, oak and rush, h. 121, w. 64, d. 85, seat h. 35, seat d. 55.
