Description
Very decorative and nicely woven wall carpet by the German-Dutch artist Hildegard Michaelis (1900-1982), who also founded the Lioba-monastery in Egmond.Binnen in The Netherlands. She had her education in the Bauhaus en went to the Netherlands in 1928. She was very important for the development of textile art within the Roman-Catholic church. This carpet is inspired by nature, especially the beauty of the birchtree. In very good condition, wool, signed HM, 80×116.
