In the 1980s the Dutch-Frisian ceramic industry of Tichelaar Makkum changed strategy. After centuries of traditional earthenware, they embraced design and designers in the minimalist series ‘Oar Wurk’ (Other Work). Paulus van Leeuwen was one of the new designers.
