Description
Rare vase by the famous Dutch ceramist Jan van der Vaart for the Tichelaar factory in the Netherlands. In the 1980s Tichelaar made some important innovations in its ceramic products and started a design series called Oar Wurk – Other/different work – to make the distinction with earlier periods with more traditional earthenware. In Oar Wurk the factory worked together with well-known Dutch designers like Marcel Wander, Dirk Romijn and, like in this vase, Jan van der Vaart. In very good condition, a minuscule chip underneath; signed ‘oar wurk makkum design jan van der vaart’, 1980s; h. 19, diam. 9,5.
