Description
The ‘sunfeather’ chair by Sonna Rosen for Nässjö Stolfabrik Sweden is one of the iconic designs of midcentury Scandinavian furniture. The chair was originally designed in 1948. During the 1940s Sonna Rosén was something unusual as a female interior designer, trained at University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm. The SUNFEATHER was designed in 1948 and was one of the few pieces of furniture that attracted international attention during the post-war design boom. It was awarded the “Good Design” award by the Modern Art Museum MoMa in New York in 1952 and has been part of their collection ever since.
Today SUNFEATHER is represented in a number of museums and public spaces, such as the National Museum in Stockholm.
