H.D. Gölzenleuchter grew up in Germany during the post-war period. The natural environment: a river, trees and a green pond in front of the house, let the young Gölzenleuchter sink into adventurous daydreams. He watches in astonishment at his neighbor, who paints wistful landscape paintings in the garden with oil paints. Gratefully and happily, Gölzenleuchter receives the almost empty paint tubes as a gift, which he removes the last traces of paint for his first oil paintings on cardboard. He works with versatile techniques such as wood and linocut etching, etching or oil and watercolor paintings. The central theme in his works is the human being, as multi-faceted and multifaceted, as life itself. The artist is interested in interpersonal encounters, love, hate, joy, grief, violence or tenderness. He portrays man as part of nature, positive as well as negative and destructive. Gölzenleuchter has shown his work in galleries, museums and cultural centers in Germany and abroad. Among others in Ahlen / Westphalia with the gallery “Fritz-Winter-Haus”, Berlin, with the “Gallery of the Berlin Graphic Press” and in Alkmaar (Netherlands) with the “Grafisch Atelier”.
