Description
The Dutch furniture maker Rohé started making rattan chairs in the early 20th century. Rattan became very popular in Dutch interiors after WWII, when everybody needed new furniture. Rohé and Gebr. Jonkers were the most important factories in the centre of Dutch rattan design, the Frisian village of Noordwolde. This rattan chair with its elegant lines and transparant character is an early example of this early periode of post-war design, late 40s, early 50. In good condition, one rung of the back is missing, but can be easily repaired. Beautiful patina, h. 77, w. 55, d. 60, seat h. 42, seat d. 48
