Description
Josef Müller (* February 2, 1936, in Duisburg; † July 17, 2021, in Duisburg) was a German painter and graphic artist. From 1954 to 1957, Josef Müller was trained as a window dresser and poster painter. At the same time, he attended the class “Decorative Painting” (mural painting) in the evening school at the Werkkunstschule Krefeld under Laurens Goossens. From 1983 to 1988, Josef Müller was initially a member of the “Duisburger Künstlerbund”. Freeing himself more and more from representationalism and devoting himself increasingly to abstract painting, he switched to the “Duisburger Sezession” in 1989. Here and in the “Verein der Düsseldorfer Künstler zur gegenseitigen Unterstützung und Hilfe” and in the “Verein zur Veranstaltung von Kunstausstellungen e.V.” he remained a member until his death. His work was exhibited in Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne and in the Netherlands.
