Description
A very bright and joyful painting by the well-known Delft artist Gillis Cornelis van Oosten (Delft 1916 – Delft 2005). He worked most of his life in his hometown of Delft. Van Oosten was active as a painter, watercolourist, draftsman, graphic artist and sculptor. He also worked as a teacher at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (1960-1982). During his career, Van Oosten frequently experimented with different techniques and media. From paintings and drawings to screen prints and perspex reliefs. His oeuvre ranges from realistic landscapes and self-portraits to abstract splatter drawings with Indian ink. This painting is in a very good condition, acrylic on canvas, signed and dated Gillis van Oosten 1966, 81x61x3
