In the 1960s Dutch design got inspired by Scandinavian design and hundreds of new factories produce teakwood furniture, especially in the Danish style. Some factories and designers were outstanding and are still very sought after. The Groningen factory Hulmefa and the Nijkerk factory Tijsseling belonged to the ‘Top-20’ of Dutch midcenturymodern furniture makers. Hulmefa presented this desk in the Propos-series, design Tijsseling. Not only a comfortabel and sophisticated desk, but als a beautiful freestanding object with a bookcase on the backside. Nicely shaped drawers, sturdy top. In very good condition, solid and veneer teakwood with some marks of use on the top (faded inkspot).
