Description
Bertus Hylkema, born 1927 in the Dutch province of Friesland, received his education at the Quellinus arts-school in Amsterdam. In 1953 he moves from Amsterdam to Amersfoort, to the De Volmolen studio. Hylkema is a sculptor in wood, bone and ivory. His very rare sculptures are always of rather small size, varying from 20-100 cm This sculpture is signed and dated B Hylkema ’64 and is in a good condition, with only some light signs of use and age, h. 40, w. 10, d. 8
