Description
Iconic design classic C683 was designed in 1968 by one of the leading 20th centuryDutch designers Kho Liang Ie for Artifort (Netherlands). The angle and the large soft cushion make the C683 sofa a wonderfully comfortable sofa. There is also a three-seater, but this is the more rare two-seater sofa. Kho Liang Ie was born in 1927 to Chinese parents in Indonesia. After Indonesian independence in 1949, he came to the Netherlands, where he initially started studying medicine, which he soon exchanged for a course at the Institute for Applied Arts Education. After graduating in 1954, he became an employee of the Goed Wonen foundation and was editor of the magazine of the same name from 1957 to 1963. From 1958 until his death in 1975, he was active as a furniture designer for Artifort, and he also designed for Car Katwijk, Fristho, Bruynzeel and Mosa.He is famous for his interior design of Schiphol airport in the 1960s.
