Description
Beautiful chair in oak and rush, made by the famous Dutch factory LOV (Labor Omna Vincit) in Oosterbeek. Most of their products are in the austere Dutch design of the 1920s. This chair seems to be from the earliest period of their existence, since the details are more related to the Nieuwe Kunst (New Art) of the designer H.P. Berlage. LOV was not only in design but also historically an important factory because they were organised on very idealistic principles. They were the first to introduce the 8-hours working day. In very good condition, solid oak and rush. There is no LOV-label, but the chair belonged to a set of chairs of which one was labelled LOV Oosterbeek (foto available),
